Welcome to the Wells Red Angus history page.
"Breeding Red Angus for the Future"
Established in the spring of 2006, the Wells family decided to add Red Angus cattle to their row crop farming enterprise. After breeding Shorthorn cattle for several years, they realized how much the Red Angus breed had to offer to the future of the beef industry, both maternally, and in the feed lot. So in March of 2006, Steve Wells set out to aquire females to start a 1-A Red Angus herd. After visiting with several reputable breeders, he decided on a herd from Nebraska as his foundation. Our program at Wells Red Angus consists of combining several of the older top female lines; such as Melody, Bonnebell, Tilly, and Mattie, to name a few, with today's bulls to supply top genetics for the future.
